  • A french-style bakery which serves also as a café. The fresh breads and pastries, that come fresh out of the oven every few minutes, completely fills the place with appetising smell. do yourself a favour and have your first coffee of the day here. This is the closest place to where I work, so I find myself eating there sometimes even three times a day… Coffee and a croissant in the morning, fresh vegetables salad with tahini, and sometimes an amazing tuna sandwich! I usually like to sit at the outside corner that overlooks the boulevard.

  • Xoho Café feels like San Francisco in the Middle East. Located on Gordon st., it has a nice front yard and a colorful funky interior. The owner is in fact American, and made Aliya at least ten years ago, but the atmosphere and clientele feel like a break from the levant. Come here to eat good organic vegan and vegetarian food, drink freshly squeezed juices, work on your laptop in the front yard or just for some English speaking and mingling with ex-patriots and Aliya-makers.

  • Check it out if you wanna get a perfect view of Tel Aviv’s shoreline! An isolated gem in a crowded beach. I used to go there mostly at night. Just walk along the marine path, choose yourself a rock, sit on it and you’ll get the whole of Tel Aviv in front of you. Bring company and drinks and you should be good until dawn. Even though this spot is located on a central beach you will be surprised by how romantic and isolated it can be in the small hours of the night. During the day it’s also a great spot - you can just chill and suntan quietly even on busier days. Watch the Tel Aviv surf scene in action, grab some sunscreen and a cold drink and you're good to go!

  • OK... I might be biased (but I'm not!), as this is my family's tea shop! We opened the first branch of the French Palais des Thés in Israel back in 2010. We offer over 200 teas from all over the world and beautiful hand-made tea accessories! You can also visit the second branch at Sarona Market! And if you go, tell the team that you're Sarah's friend ;)

  • Local designer Sarah Braun grew up in Paris but has been living here for many years. She has the chic of a Parisian and the comfort that the typical Israeli woman is looking for. I try to avoid stores like Zara and H&M and all the other fast fashion brands. Sarah is one of my favorite local designers.

  • One of Tel Aviv’s most popular beaches. You can rent a lounger and a parasol. Convenient showers and cafés located close to the beach. If you’re not in the mood for a “gay beach” and would rather take off your shirt without feeling intimidated, this is the beach for you. In the summer it’s a bit difficult to find room there but I’m addicted to the fun summery feeling of this place.

  • The famous corner of Frishman and Dizengoff offers a Sabich, a pita with eggplant, hummus, boiled egg and different salads. It’s great for vegans and veggies or just people who want a great taste of the arguably best sabich in town. There are shared tables to eat in or you can grab it away and sit at Dizengoff square. It’s simple, tasty and Israeli.

  • Not my daily go-to restaurant, but definitely one of my favorites! They’re very proud of their spice garden in the back which can assure you everything you eat is as fresh as it gets. Thai House is one the most famous places in Tel Aviv and it’s been running successfully for many years. The name says it all and they get much respect even despite not being a michelin-style restaurant. Their dishes offer many rich and precise flavors that throw you all the way to Eastern Asia. Thai House has an amazing menu with lots of options and sometimes I get lost in it, because everything is seriously really good. You can share or just order single dishes. I actually like keeping it simple and going for their famous pad thai. Their lunch deal offers really good value for money, and is served everyday from 12pm until 5pm: there are two options and I would go for the pricier one because you get so many more great options to pick from and it’s completely worth it! Always call to make a reservation as they tend to be pretty busy.

  • Beautiful young parents with young children, walking on the boulevard in a casual manner. Worth visiting the old kiosks along the boulevard. It’s a very happy place on Friday, with Jazzists performing along the boulevard. I like getting a juice at Tamara on Ben Gurion-Dizengoff and continue walking towards Atarim Square.

  • If you're hungry after a day at the beach and looking for some hamburger and fries. This is the place to go to! They have different toppings and a unique combination of dressings. The place is very small and intimate, and is more of a bar than a restaurant, so you can also have a beer there.

  • High end food with the price tag to match. Light touches of molecular cuisine intertwined with high end Middle Eastern classics. Great atmosphere, modern decor and professional staff makes this place fit for a night to celebrate something special or just to enjoy an exquisite dinner—do it, pamper yourself!

  • Tel Aviv is filled with yoga studios and they are all professional and fun, but in this one I once saw Gal Gadot (aka Wonder Woman) doing a downward facing dog. It’s at 9 Sirkin st. close to the beach. I recommend Jamey Mark’s classes of free practice Vinyasa, but they are all good.

  • Gordon Pool is the most famous and successful pool in Tel Aviv. It's located in a strategic place near the beach, and it also possesses a professional gym, a sauna and Jacuzzi and many classes at the gym. I'm from Tel Aviv, but I never really liked the beach. As far as I'm concerned, Gordon Pool is the perfect place. The pool contains sea water so you feel like you're at the beach, minus the annoying sand. On Saturdays the complex is usually filled with people , but at the same time – it's the best day to hang out at the pool.

  • Well, we all need to be elitist sometimes right? To be honest, this is the best restaurant in Israel, and I'm sure you've already heard of it. It's open 24/7, the menu changes starting from midnight, and everything there is just delicious, and I mean everything. But, be prepared to open your savings account, 'cause it's not cheap. If you do want to skimp, just share a dish. Onion soup, crunchy fries a juicy steak - good luck with that.

  • Tamara Yogurt is a chain but the best store is definitely the one on Ben Yehuda st. A huge variety of flavours - mango, banana, acai berry, strawberry etc - with an even bigger variety of toppings. You can put as many fruits/nuts/chocolates/jellies as you want, plus you can add any of three types of hot chocolates, passion fruits juice or caramel on top! Nothing in the world is comparable to Tamara Yogurt on Ben Yehuda st. (where it intersects Gordon st). You will melt away after the first bite. Even the small size feels like a real (but also very healthy!) breakfast.

  • Nola is the perfect place to eat breakfast all day long, whether you’re into pastries, some sort of eggs, a salad.. they have it all! And it’s all super tasty! My favorite is the bagel with the sautéed spinach, the wheat salad and for desert - Mud pie!
